The Bodhi Trio

The Bodhi Trio pioneers Mindfulness-Based performance. Throughout their dynamic interpretations, the trio invites its audiences to experience stillness of mind and calmness of breath and heart.

Formed in the summer of 2016, we look forward to a number of performances this year in the Portland area, and future collaborations with local composers.

Divine ensemble, inspired interpretation, and a mystifying ‘something’ inexplicable. It was a highlight of my summer. They will have you in their musical arms at the first inspired tone. Nancy Olson-Chatalas, esteemed vocalist, teacher

From the very first welcome by cellist David Eby, the audience was more interested, attentive and alert than usual. Their bespoke musicality created a shining aura of sound that washed over us in sea-like waves, devoid of affectation, but with electric intensity. Michael Barnes, Music Director, The Old Church

I want to express my absolute delight in having the Bodhi Trio play for my parish’s recent Concert Series. Having known the players’ professional experience and talent, I was expecting a quality program, but what we heard went far beyond that.  Each player shone with individual virtuosity and soul, but what was truly remarkable was the synthesis of each of those parts into something that transcended technique and expressiveness. People at the concert shared with me how they felt that more than listening to music, they had become at one with the music.  The Bodhi Trio grounds their playing by grounding themselves in meditative rootedness; this is what sets them apart from mere performers. I am still flying high from their concert several weeks later. Their music makes a difference! The Rev. Canon Robert H. Bryant, Episcopal Parish of St. John the Baptist, Portland, Oregon
